Agreed. That's a weird scenario that doesn't quite add up in my mind. Either there is something about Laura that we don't know or there is something about evil Trace we don't know. Does this show he wasn't completely evil, or was there an ulterior motive? Was it that she reminded him of Saria? I don't really know how interpret this. Just gonna have to sit tight and wait and see I suppose.

We may never know, but I think old Trace was specifically after the wolf keidran at that time and saw a lone fox as no threat. Maybe the fox were helping the humans against the wolves.

So he butchered a band of wolf slavers but let Laura go. Very interesting. Seems that Trace wasn't quite the genocidal maniac we thought he was. It could be that his rage is directed at the wolves and not the other Keidran tribes since a nameless wolf killed his wife and since he has no clue who it could have been so he'll hunt down every single wolf as to be sure he avenged Saria's death. As for letting Laura go, well that could be Saria's influence.

Was trace a merciless killer or was he an emotionally troubled psycho?
He freed laura after all.Maybe because she was in love with somebody.
