I think it's funny how they don't even face each other while saying it. It's just become a thing now where Trace is realizing how his former self was and shrugging it off as another tally under the box.

Well, I can't say that the existence of such a law, implemented by Trace, is any kind of a surprise. That's a great detail, Tom, and one that's entirely consistent with the world we're working with.

This is an...interesting change of heart for Eric. I wonder what it portends for the remainder of his life.

I would guess that might be the "we" that she let slip.

I don't want to hear any more tripe about Maddie being an innocent harmless kid. She's clearly nothing of the sort, however cute she may act.

Guessing that 'we' is Keith's honor guard, suitable for a general. That Alaric and the King both would assume he'd turn down. So they didn't give him a choice.

So, he intends to sell all three of them to Trace. I can’t really speak for Mike and Evals, but he must really love Kathrin if he’s willing to let her go and potentially never see her again just so she can have her freedom and be happy.

Now, I wonder how she’ll react when that happens. Will she just go along with it, rush back to Eric’s side, or invite him to come along with them?

Also, is it just me, or does the map in the last two panels just not fit?

Templar laws have, in resent years, made it a crime for slave traders such as myself to free our slave voluntarily.

Does that mean that if it’s an accident it’s perfectly legal ?

She looks into the room, sees Eric, and decides to get out of there before he turns around. Its difficult to tell, but she is looking to the side and not at the 'camera'.

We've seen a less detailed map before. I don't remember that small island, but the Tiger Tribe's forest behind the mountain chain with a town on the Human side of the border were all there.

Interesting page, Mike and Evals will be free after Trace and Eric will make the legal trade , so the main party expands with them and Kat and I hope with Maddie too.
