Tom did a fantastic job of making Kat look like she's about to cry this whole time. She has no idea what her future is going to hold now, and it terrifies her. She stands to lose it all -- her place in the world, the man she loves, everything she's ever known. And she fears that a house slave will be useless in a Keidran society she's afraid she'll be forced to join.

Though, man, using the middle of the measuring tape like that? Is Kat also practicing her math?

As an aside, I can't wait to see Natani take over from imaginary Zen as the best-dressed Keidran in the comic. Her brother's (or her...I've never really been able to tell who decides what their telepathic figment is wearing, but I'm guess it's Zen's choice here) sense of style has always been terrific.
