If you pay attention to the little details, "Maren" has her hands neither open nor in fists... but in animal mode (only fingers curled).

Personally, I can't tell if that big line of red is splatter from just her arm getting hurt, or if Raine's gotten slashed real bad. (And oddly reminiscent of the illusion injuries too...)

Perhaps it’s because you care for these characters and want to see them get through unharmed? Either way, that’s a good outlook to have and it sometime starts good discussions.

It could be either or. Though it seems odd for a sword slash to go from (outstretched) fore-arm to abdomen, it does look like that's what happened. Both arm and abdomen have a deep, dark-colored, slash with a bit of lighter red seeping into the surrounding fur. If it all came from her arm, I don't think the splash to her torso would look so precise.

For some reason, I feel unable to really hate this characters, though Red IS kind of a rear end when he wants to.

Pssh red just lost any chance at a date with her. Hopefully she runs off then Zen stabs red in the back. Not because of the mission just because red is just so stupid. I really don't want raine to die. I don't think she will because her character is interesting to say the least, but if she dies yeah..... i will be very angry. Maybe she will change back sometime between now and his mind will splode. I hate red so much.
