Judging by what we've seen of Trace so far, he should be talking to his alter ego.

Judging by the "fun" plot twists that Tom likes to pull, it'll probably go downhill because Trace pulls a What The Hell Hero for no reason. It creates conflict, develops character, and advances the plot. I don't like it, and I'd be happy if Tom could avoid it, but if that's what he's going for I submit.

In that case, classic What The Hell Hero incoming. /sigh.

Look at those faces... Trace's eyes in the 3rd panel, Flora crying... things have gotten emotional and intense.
I'm sure Trace is saying "shut up" to the black voice in his mind and not Flora... he hasn't gone all red-eyed or red-glowing or anything, I don't think the evil has taken over him, I think he's just... overwhelmed! I think he just wants the black voice to shut up so he can think properly and listen to flora and just work out what the hell is going on. Also, it's very interesting bringing Natani into this... perhaps his womanhood might be the thing that eventually exonerates Flora...

Hm, I wonder how "insane" Trace originally became. Does black magic really warp your mind, or does it act almost as a way to welcome something into you? I mean, in Trace's desperation and heartbreak, he may have actually just allowed something into him more so than created something. Or maybe he did just find a way to open a box of nightmares. Eh, theories.

Let's not forget, Trace has already told Flora about hearing an evil freaky voice in his head, so she already knows it's a thing. So hopefully it won't be too long before she realises that he's not telling *her* to shut up. Or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself that there's still hope . Flora's practically in tears
