EDIT: Come to think of it, he could actually be more observant than he looks. Natani's gaze points right to where Maddie is hiding behind Eric. (Or, at least, in that general direction.)

I wonder if Eric will be of any assistance to Flora with info about being a mother. Imagine him bursting into gleeful excitement at the sight of her baby bump, eagerly pouring advice on the glowing mother-to-be.

Probably an oversight by Tom. Natani barely speaks any Human, and even if she's improved she couldn't have pulled off an idiomatic threat like that in anything but Keidran.

Eric is handling this quite well, I think. He's asserting his authority but staying fairly calm (Eric seems to be pretty stable in comparison to some other characters I could name...a good quality in a captain). I can't help but wonder WHY he wants the vest back--I guess he could sell it, but I doubt it would fit anyone else very well. I'd be trying to figure out how to get some gold back, and everyone knows Natani has no money. "Hey Trace...maybe you'd like to help pay for an...ummm...expensive present for Natani?

Poor Keith. He's been completely forgotten. His ghostly girlfriend will have sucked out his soul by the time they remember him, and he'll just be an empty, staring husk of a once noble Bastian...

Advice, I could see. Being excited to see her pregnant, I'm not so sure.

When they were on the Basitin Isles Eric said “You're right, Flora. That's why I don't tend to visit the islands this time of year.” when Flora pointed out that every other woman they passed was pregnant.
To me, this could mean one of two things.
A. Eric doesn't really have a thing for pregnancy and doesn't see anything in it.
B. Eric sees beauty in pregnancy and wants to rub the expectant mother’s tummy, but can't because it's somewhat rude to just do that to a stranger and has to restrain himself.

Personally, I'm going with answer A on this one.


P.S. I know it's a little late for this one, but the word ‘that's’ in Eric's speech bubble should be capitalized.

Not to mention that he'll most likely scoff at the idea of a supposed Human-Keidran child once Flora tries to explain herself.

She was tired and stressed out the day before when she blew up at Natani while doing the measurements. And if she's been working on the outfit (in I'm-a-mad-genius-don't-stop-me mode) non-stop like she told Mike... well, her last frazzle is definitely looking a bit threadbare by now. I'd hate to think when she last slept. Not to mention the heart coming off her apron a little bit more. Awww.
