And yay, the way Maddie suddenly is like, "Oh, he's gay..." Then starts treating him like a General properly.

I wonder if Maddie will try and sabotage them. I mean what is she going to do with all her insanity and spare time stranded on a boat. I'm feeling a Mufasa & Scar moment coming on.

Of course, Maddie ought to know that he's not *just* gay, because it certainly seems like she knew who Laura was and what her relationship with Keith was. Maddie ought to be thinking he's bi - or, though I definitely admit it's unlikely, perhaps starting to have suspicions about Natani. Though if there's anyone on the boat who would be able to *deduce/figure out* Natani's secret on her own (as opposed to being told or finding out because of some accident), it'd probably be Maddie.

Interesting note here - Maddie has at least implied that she's on the boat without orders. For a Basitin, that would be a *very* unusual thing - if she's there without orders, that would represent abandoning her actual post and at least implicitly disobeying her superiors. And not only that, all four of the people she's talking to are at least theoretically aware of how unusual that would be. Keith of course, but Eric also appears to be quite familiar with basitin society, and both Natani and Flora have become aware of how basitin order-compulsion works. If any of them stop to think about it, her story will start to sound very odd. At this point *we* don't even know for sure whether Maddie was actually ordered to sneak on or not, but either way she's going to have problems explaining. If she actually *is* there without orders the others will eventually realize just how unusual the ability to do that would be and know to keep an even closer eye on her, and if she is actually under orders, her cover story is going to start wearing thin if the others stop to think about it.

I can't tell if that's an "Ooooooh" as in "Well guess I'm not having Keith" or "I can use this..."

And is it just me or does Maddie's saluting arm not look like her own but rather someone standing next to her is saluting for her? It's just the way the picture cuts off her elbow I think.

It's not just Keith's reaction I'm interested in seeing; remember what happened the last time Natani encountered the madness that is Maddie. Is our favourite wolf still annoyed at her? I think they might be speaking the wrong language again, which can't help...

It's an interesting question whether or not Maddie was sent by the Basitin to spy on the travelers. It would be odd for a Basitin to abandon her post and sneak off the island considering that would be disobeying orders. And as further support for the "Maddie is a spy" theory, she seems to follow her superior's orders when responding to Keith--showing that she does follow Basitin instincts regarding orders. And on top of that she responds (what we can assume as) truthfully that she is indeed "infiltrating." It'll be fun to see how Keith handles this situation.

And look how Keith looks away from Natani while she looks like she has no idea their tails are touching. She's subconsciously giving into her womanly desire for Keith.

What is noticeable about Maddie's reaction to Keith and Natani is that the way she addresses Keith abruptly changes from casual to formal.

Page is nice. Maddie's feelings must be conflicted.

Was that an "ooh" or an "Oh."? Dissapointed or not?
Keith and Natani touching tails in the presence of others. Big step.
Madness's sudden demeanor change, she thinks she has no chance.
Keith's anger is probably the same as he had at Lyn, he doesn't need an escort, and he thinks she was sent to "keep an eye on him".
Keith's face during the tail-touch panel, is one of "hmph", showing more anger at her than embarassment about the tails.
Maddie's face, panel 2, one of somebody startled, as Natani was Here. She didn't see him, he snuck up on her. We knew that already.
Madness serious face. Much funny.
Keith and Natani tail-touch has gone for more time then previously thought, they've begun to open up about it, if only to each other.

These are my reactions to this page, in random order. Most of them happened at once, within moments of reading the related panel/text. I think I have a problem, in that seeing a comic page has prevented me from thinking straight since I read it.

It's not just Keith's reaction I'm interested in seeing; remember what happened the last time Natani encountered the madness that is Maddie.

I don't think Natani's ever not been annoyed, or at least a little perturbed, by Maddie (out wandering, storming the castle, and needing everyone's attention). Though it's usually over the idea that Keith might actually like and go with her. I too would be interested in Natani's reaction now that he and Keith have all but acknowledged being in a relationship, and he doesn't really have to worry about Keith's affections being "stolen away" anymore.

Honestly, I'm a little surprised Natani and Keith are nonchalantly holding tails in public in front of the others. Natani was still irked at the word "relationship" in the bath, and the only other times their tails touched was when they were alone after the bath, and when Keith sneakily brushed them together up on deck (which startled him). Such a public display of affection is a bit more than I'd have expected.
