Hm, with the wisp-ing like that, woulds the mana be a liquid-based magic? The crystal must be hollow then, if to assume that is liquid.

If gaseous, then it would expand rapidly inside, masking the 'good' mana with a darker hue.

I rest on the liquid-based mana. It would also explain how the mana runs through veins and can be stored in crystals.

They are rather androgynous...

I kinda hope the tower doesn't explode and kill them. Otherwise Trace et. all will be just like the rebels in Star Wars: a whole bunch of dicks.

Lets review what the templars did.
#1: They captured Trace
#2: To prevent his escape, they chained him to a mana sink to drain his energy.
#3: The mana sink linked directly to the Mana Tower so they could activate it.

At face value this is a good idea. Trace commands vast amounts of magical energy.
How else would one restrain him?

The problem being Trace designed the Mana Towers didn't he? It never occurred to them that the mastermind behind the towers might possibly have a measure of control over them.

I'd guess he's either corrupting the mana tower in some way, or reversed the direction of the mana flow and drained the tower.

i think that since the tower is taking his mana from his body than (if you can remember back to when he first saw lady nora) it must be absorbing the dark mana that he absorbed before aswell. haha only bad things can happen.
