But...Siberian Huskies are Alaskan Huskies. The "Alaskan Husky" is a class of dog, not a breed. It includes Siberian Huskies and Malamutes (and possibly even American Eskimo Dogs, though they're so little that I'm not sure if they qualify or not). "Alaskan Husky" pretty much means "double-coated dog bred for pulling things through the snow." It's a definition of what the dog was bred for, rather than what the breed is.
That's kind of the whole "rectangles are boxes, but boxes aren't rectangles" thing right there. Alaskan Husky isn't a true breed as much as a "defined mut", they are a mix of breeds all chosen for one thing: "Pull a sled"
But, oddly enough, Alaskan Huskies never have blue eyes, they are almost always brown. That's where the Siberian steps in. When a Siberian gets thrown into the mix, it goes from a normal "Alaskan Husky" to an "Alaskan Amerindian Husky"
