Poems Below This Introduction
VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Hello, my name is Michael (Bubbasmack) Springer,
I was born august 15, 1998. I grew up as a military brat. Both of my parents served in the army, my mother served for four years, and my father only recently left after serving for fourteen years. We were constantly moving about every three years, and we have finally chosen a “permanent” house (as of 1/14/2013). I love sports and being athletic. I play football mostly, but I also run track and cross-country. I am always doing something with my hands, whether it be spinning a coin between my fingers or cooking on the grill. I love music, but primarily enjoy rock, grunge, metal, punk, and rockabilly (and whatever else is a branch of those categories).
I thoroughly enjoy drawing abstractive art or writing song lyrics or poems, because it is a great stress reliever, and because it is satisfying to create something that other people can enjoy. Basically the only thing I write are song lyrics and free form poems. Writing stories or plays is thoroughly unsatisfying to me, because it is difficult to project my feelings or emotions in a way that makes sense in the form of anything but uncensored poetry however, I have written a few stories that I enjoyed writing. When I write, I never use any strict rules or guidelines, because self-expression should not be limited to a set number of syllables or lines. Almost everything I write is difficult to be considered “positive,” but it helps keep me happy by writing down my negative feelings.
I write poems and song lyrics a lot, but I usually end up losing my work...
I saved several of my works that I found or have written recently in a docx, and my friends tell me they are really good. (sadly, I cant use a .docx as ab attachement for this) I figured I would get them out on the internet and share them, hopefully people will enjoy them as much as I do.
I will be posting them here one at a time (probably one each day), Tell me what you think please! P.S. If you want to know more about a piece of literature (ex. why I wrote it, what its about, the inspiration behind it, etc) post a reply on this topic, thanx!

*open to interpretation.
All my works are open to interpretation. oftentimes, I have trouble figuring out what I wrote about. I would love to hear your individual interpretations/ opinions on my works, thanx!

I have many, many, many other things lying around that I will post on here, but I wont be posting long poems or short stories (or any stories) until I know that people will appreciate my work, because I don't expect people to actually enjoy or try to read through my stories unless they know that my work will be somewhat decent :P

Re: The Human Condition (Poem: The Painted Rose)

#2 Post by bubbasmack »

The painted rose haunts my dreams,
Taunting me with what I seek,
Enticing me with sweet promises,
But these things are things I cannot reach.
The painted rose consumes my sleep.

The painted rose attacks me,
With sharp purple thorns,
Tearing at my flesh,
Confusing me of what is good and just.
The painted rose humbles me through fear.

The edges of the leaves,
Wilted, black, and malnourished,
Seek to be relieved,
And block the path for the pilgrims,
Who seek for the pure to be freed.

I have delved into a sea of red,
Created by the blood spilt by those that I call brothers,
Who each wield the painted rose,
Gripped tightly by dirt covered fists,
These men are not my friends,
And this sea of red must be cleansed.

Amidst the seas of red,
Are blue islands of rest and refuge,
Where friends may be found,
And where pureness prevails,
But these islands are sinking quickly,
As they recede back into the sea.

The painted rose provides salvation,
Towards the center, hidden behind the seas of red leaves,
Is a bright, beautiful light,
That purges the wicked and the cruel,
But gives a false hope for those who cannot reach it.

The painted rose is the scourge of the conquerors,
Whom cause the pain of others,
As their greed compels them to advance,
Seeking the prize at the bottom of the box,
But whose fingers are burned as they grasp the fire.
The painted rose banishes the wicked to oblivion.
The painted rose is the bane of the downtrodden,
Whom are too weak to advance towards protection,
If only the pure could reach it,
If only the good could band together,
The wickedness of others would be burned away.

Hey, Thanx for looking at my work minime. Here is another piece of literature I mad. These are song lyrics.

You kicked me when I was down,
But it will all turn around,
I know Iʼm better than you,
You will soon know the truth,
You press on your attack,
But the truth will turn you away,
From

(((chorus
The place you built on your hate,
That towers above your face,
With-holds your inevitable fate,
The monument to your hate)))

You push everyone away,
You make me do the same,
But I will resist your hate,
I will not fall away.

Come at me once again,
I accept your hate,
Your sins strike me once more,
But I have a heart of stone,
It protects from your hate,
Serves as a shield to protect from,

(((chorus)))

You will not pull me down,
You will not hurt me again,
You will not defeat me or my friends,
You will not continue the pain,
You will not make me turn away,
You will not escape your fate,
You will not ever escape,

(((chorus)))

*open to interpretation.

This was one of the first poetic things I wrote, and I was thoroughly surprised when it turned up in my cp's files. there is a loooong story behind this one :P

I have many, many, many other things lying around that I will post on here, but I wont be posting long poems or short stories (or any stories) until I know that people will appreciate my work, because I don't expect people to actually enjoy or try to read through my stories unless they know that my work will be somewhat decent :P

The sadness,
It has doomed you,
And denied you access.

The madness,
It has consumed you,
The sadness.

Your heartlessness
Has entombed you,
And denied you access.

How could you be so careless?
It has fully bloomed;
The sadness.

And now, you are lifeless.
That self-inflicted wound,
Has denied you access.

Your fate has been sealed,
The judgment is cast.
The sadness
Has denied you access.

(((CHORUS
I am the light (repeat X2)
Destroy the dark,
I am the light (repeat X2)
Chase away your sins,
I am the light (repeat X2)
Light the way,
For all to chase
After me!)))

Destroy the darkness,
As I grow,
Burn what binds you,
As I glow.

Steady as she goes,
Feel it coursing through your veins,
Feeding that longing feeling,
That brings you here again,

The walls have toppled,
Giving way to the light,
And releasing your sins!

The beast has been released,
Inside of me!

The fight has now begun,
You will hear me scream!

At the height of the climb,
You will find me,
Destroying the dark,
Releasing the light,
Lighting the way for all to find,
Their souls that have drowned in time,

(((CHORUS)))

The finale has come,
The end is past,
The light brings in the new,
The darkness fades away.
You have all been saved,
From your inevitable fate

I found this lying around, and I think it is unfinished though. I wrote it about a year ago. Tell me what you think, what to add to it, or what to take away. I have tried numerous times (unsuccessfully) to finish it.

(((chorus
You can only release your hold,
Only lose control,
Only uphold,
Only lose your soul,
Only realize,
Only try to find,
Only try to hide,
Only hope to escape…)))

The ending draws near,
You will begin to fear,
Both the darkness and light,
And you will have to fight,
To further extend your life,
That is filled with lies,
You now realize,
You have to sacrifice,
Your own life.

(((chorus)))

You must repent,
For the end is nigh,
Choose between the path of dark,
And the path of light,
Choose correctly and you just might,
Escape with your life.

(((chorus)))

The food stocks run low,
The more you consume,
And The more you control

You continue to need,
Like a black hole,
You continue to need,
More and more...

This hatred,
This god-forsaken enmity.

This all will end,
With the press of the button,
Pick up the phone,
Answer your sins,
Conceive once more,

You have sworn your oath,
Which youʼve failed to uphold.
Release your control,
Surrender your hold...
Surrender your...

Youʼve fed us lies,
Your entire life.
But it ends right now,
Youʼll soon pay for your sins...
Youʼll soon pay for your...

This was a school assignment about a year ago. We were supposed to write a one act play (and act it out with friends in class). I found it at the bottome of my backpack crumpled into a little ball. Hope you like it :|
(edit) oops, forgot to add the play to it :P I did this as a last minute school assignment about a year ago, so its not very good XD I got a B+ for it :P

Four friends are sitting at a table in Chow's China-town buffet, enjoying a quiet Saturday night at their favorite restaurant.

(eating motions with forks/ chopsticks made by four friends)

Friend 4- (Sets down silverware and/or chopsticks) Chow, could we get our bill?

Chow- Certainly… (shouts into the kitchen) Amanda! There done!

Amanda- Coming sir. (hurriedly moves to the table and sets down a small plastic plate with the check and fortune cookies on it)
Friend 4- Dinners on me guys! (friend 4 drops a handful of dollar bills on the table)
(all friends stand up to leave)
Lauren- (shouting from the kitchen) Aren’t you going to read your fortunes?
Friend 2- Oh, ya! We almost forgot.
(friends sit down and open the fortune cookies)
Friend 4- You will find love in someone who enjoys being with you…
Friend 3- …in bed!
Friend 2- You will meet many new friends…
Friend 3- …in bed!
Friend 3- You will not be able to say “in bed” at the end of this fortune…
Friend 1- Huh?
Friend 3- Seriously! That’s what it says!
Friend 2- What does yours say, babe?
Friend 1- (confused and stammering) Buh- it- huh?...
Friend 2- Is something wrong?
Friend 1- (has a confused expression) I went to the doctors last week to see why I have been so sick lately, I was going to wait until later tonight to tell you! I’m so sorry honey… (passes friend 2 the fortune)
Friend 2- (quietly, with a solemn expression on his face) I’m going to be a father…
Friend 1- I’m so sorry honey, I know it’s not what we pla- (interrupted by friend 2)
Friend 2- (smiling, throws hands up in the air and screams) I’m going to be a father!
Friend 3 and 4- Congratulations!
(the friends stand up and leave, and friend 2 repeats his happy screams)
Friend 2- I’m going to be a father! Thank god!
(the friends walk outside the door) stay outside the door until the play is finished.
Lauren begins to grab plates from the table and bring them back to the kitchen, then grabs a paper towel and begins to wipe down the table)
Chow walks over to Lauren while she is cleaning, and interrupts her work.
Chow- Lauren, may I speak with you?
Lauren- Certainly Chow, what’s on your mind?
(Lauren and Chow both take a seat at the table)
Chow- I just wanted to thank you for giving me the chance to do something good in my life, and for being such a good friend. You’ve helped a lot of people on earth.
(Amanda walks in and sits at the table with Chow and Lauren)
Lauren- You know tonight will be my last night, right? I have prepared a special fortune for the next group. This fortune will likely bring the reaper, and I will have to go back.
Amanda- But why would the reaper come for you? You have saved dozens of lives of people you don’t even know; don’t you deserve your life on earth?

Lauren- This is my second life on earth, in my first life I was captured by a very evil man. I was tortured and violated for over a year. When I finally escaped, I became obsessed with having to have complete control of my life after being controlled by someone else for so long. When I realized I couldn’t control my life, I killed myself and was dammed to hell. In hell, I made a deal with the devil; In return for eternal service and torture, I would be allowed a new life on earth with complete control of my life. I was brought back to earth, and it was as if I never killed myself, and I was able to see the future. That was twelve years ago today. Today will be my last day on earth.
Chow- But why do you have to help these people? Why are they so important? What makes their life worth more than yours?
Lauren- I couldn’t let one life be taken in place of mine, let alone four. I have to do this, please try to understand.
Amanda- We will miss you Lauren, we will never forget you.
(the three stand up and hug each other)
Lauren- You our the best friends a person could want, I will never forget you.
(the bell on the door rings as four more people walk into the restaurant)
Chow- Welcome to Chows! Please, take a seat and make yourself comfortable.
Narrator- After an hour of eating and merrymaking, the friends finish their meal and ask for the bill.
Amanda- No payment is necessary tonight; here is your fortune cookie (places one cookie on the table and walks away)
Joseph- Just one cookie?
Heath- I don’t like them anyway, they taste to… Chinese…
Heather- Oh, Heath, your such a racist.
Sam- What does it say?
Heath- (with a sly look on his face) Oh, sure, lets all ask each other! Then we’ll know!
Joseph- (rolls eyes) [censored]…
Heather- (reaching for the cookie) I’ll open it…
(Heather breaks the cookie open, and pulls out the fortune)
Heather- It says; “Don’t take the highway home.”
Heath- Whatever, see you guys later, thanks for inviting us to free dinner.
Narrator- the friends walk outside and get in their cars to drive home.
Sam- Hey, Joe? How about we take the long way home?
Joseph- Don’t tell me that fortune is getting to you?
Sam- No, its just that… We could stop by the pool, there is no one there at night, and these clothes are getting a little itchy…
Joseph- Hmmm… Well, I guess I’m convinced, lets go.

Heather- (Looks out the window) Guess who is avoiding the highway tonight?
Heath- Hmmm… Pricks.
Heather- maybe the fortune meant that traffic would be bad?
Heath- Well, if im gonna be stuck in traffic, im glad it’s with you… You now I love you, right baby?
Narrator- There is a loud bang, and a car flies into the air and catches on fire, which lands on another car and causes a chain reaction which spreads fire across the highway. Many people are trapped by the fire, and over 83 people are killed or seriously injured in the catastrophe. The next day, Lauren dies of a heart attack.
Reaper- Hello Lauren, I’ve missed you.
(Lauren is staring at the ground in front of her, silent)
Reaper- Don’t you have anything to say? Anything at all?
(Lauren is still silent)
Reaper- Tell me about how your new life was. Did you meet any new friends?
Lauren- Yes…
Reaper- Tell me about them.
Lauren- I can’t remember.
(Lauren falls to her knees and covers her face, and begins to cry)
Reaper- You can’t remember anything about them? Do you remember their names? Or any promises you made them?
Lauren- I promised them I wouldn’t forget…
Reaper- Good. You are mine now…

This is one I started earlier today during a very long (and boring) lecture about Napoleon and the French Revolution. (This has no relation to the poem's topic or my individual interpretation of it, its just where I wrote it :P)
Ill update this reply as the poem progresses.

Little cup on the side of the road,
Watch you from afar,
As you pick up all the little pieces of trash and garbage.
Watch you from afar,
As you gather the waste of society.

Little cup on the side of the road,
Watch you from afar,
As you discard each weak and meager piece of [censored]
Watch you from afar,
As you continue to be disappointed by the trash that comes your way.

Little cup on the side of the road,
One in a million pieces of insignificant garbage,
One little cup, beaten, bashed, and brutalized,
Laying here where you cant see me,
On the other side of the ditch.

I still exist.
I am still here,
I still long for you,
Still long to hold you dear,
But I will wait for you here.

Little cup on the side of the road,
How long till you find me?
How much more can you lose?
Why can't you see me?
There is nothing more I can do.

Little cup on the side of the road,
He cannot face his fear.

I was very moody today... Dont judge me :(
in fact, judge me as much as you want. i will probably enjoy it  :potatoes:

i feel like ive been bringing waaay too much negativity to the boards, so im gonna take a break and get my act together, and see if i can come back to poetry with a healthy mind. i might post things that i consider "positive" every now and then though.

meh... taking a break from poetry probably just made things worse. Its a great stress reliever....
Anyways, here is an angry (and unfinished) poem to get back into the swing of things. .

[censored] the hate,
[censored] the death,
[censored] the killing,
[censored] your pointless arguments.
[censored] the lying,
[censored] the cheating,
[censored] the undieing,
There is no god, so stop your crying.
[censored] the pain,
[censored] the suffering,
[censored] the madness,
[censored] all the evil people in the world,
[censored] you.

As i said, its unfinished.... and angry...

im going to be posting alot on deviantart, so feel free to check it out (i might be posting stuff there that dont post on these forums every now and then :P)

Scars
I have them
You have them
We all have our
Scars

Each one is a story
A new chapter of life
They all tell of my glory
They each sing of my strife
Each one wrought from quarries
Each have been cut with my knife
There are many on me
Each cut is a creed
A sacred vow that
Is sealed when I bleed
When you look at me
Don't you dare misread
Each scar that I have
Is not made to concede
It is made to remind
Me to keep fighting
Keep fighting these sins
Fight 'till I win
Fight 'till I've been
Beaten again
Then I will rise
From my demise
Then I will shout
Into the skies
Remove my guise
Open my eyes
See all your lies
Then I'll realize; real eyes; real lies
All these scares are on me
They baptize my misdeeds
They remind me
To keep on fighting
Fight 'till I win
And then therein
Will I begin
To cut once again

I have them
You have them
We all have our
Scars
