Space Engineers

#1 Post by HeckobA »

So, I know of quite a few people who play this by now, but still no thread!
So, here you can discuss, get help, show off screenshots and workshop stuff and post anything about Space Engineers.

News can be found here: http://www.spaceengineersgame.com/news.html <-- (sometimes contains more than just update news)
Or in the Change Log thread: http://forums.keenswh.com/?forum=326211 <-- (gets updated immediately with the updates)

To start off, here is my workshop item containing most of the ships I've made so far.
The big one is a WIP, but I'm making good progress on that: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =249293863

Space Minecraft with functional ships? Looks great. I'll have to grab it when I've got some (read: a lot) of free time.
And so it was that Godhead Pickle Inspector created the universe. He regarded His creation with fondness and saw that it was good.

Yeah, it's pretty freaking awesome, but can be really hard to get used to at first because you're in space with no gravity.

.. Mining can be a pain when your ore goes flying off everywhere...

For mining: build yourself a fancy Gravity Cage!
Or, more practical in survival would be to carry the components for a new station block (light armor), a gravity generator and a reactor and some extra fuel in your ship's storage container and set up a little gravity station so you can mine "downwards".

Wow! This game looks great! That's pity it's not f2p. I would love to play it but I'm broke all the time. Well, I'll have to stick to the alternative. Star-made anyone? (Sorry if it's a derail)

Yeah, games like this don't go free-to-play. It's not a horribly produced MMO.

There are plenty of awesome f2p games that are not horribly produced MMOs.

Shhhhh.

I'm gonna do you a big favor and shush you before you stick your foot in your mouth any farther. A quick google search will show you plenty of awesome and popular free games(that aren't even League of Legends, even though you think the most popular online game in the world right now sucks), don't be a big silly face and say things that aren't quite so smart.

*snip*

Anyway as for the actual game at hand, I played it. I inda liked it. Need to get back to it so I can really enjoy. So far it feels really lonely. Even with more people, but I suppose that's with the ambiance of being in space and such. But I will get around to really putting some time in it.

It needs strip club space stations. Like X Rebirth has.

It will probably get better once they get the stuff for dedicated servers up. I imagine Minecraft probably had much of the same feeling early in development.
