Skyward Sword, Skyrim or a new mouse?
So I only have £30 spare (Mum won't mind loaning me £10 extra, and we have a voucher for another £10 anyway) and I'm hyped up for both Skyward Sword and Skyrim, however my mouse of 6 years old is finally starting to break (As anyone who saw my older thread would know) and while it's still usable it sometimes require sme to press down quite hard.
So which do I get? D:

I say Skyrim unless your mouse is so badly broken that it prevents you from playing

Skyrim is likely to go on sale on Steam next Christmas. No point in spending 60 dollars on it.

Unless you don't want to wait a whole year. That logic applies to just about anything. You can buy it now for full price, or wait until its value drops over time.Luca Fox wrote:Skyrim is likely to go on sale on Steam next Christmas. No point in spending 60 dollars on it.

That's exactly what I do because no game except for Left 4 Dead and similar games are worth full price. I've never devoted 800 hours to an Elder Scrolls game, and I doubt anyone else has either.

*objects, did* Morrowind and Oblivion, each, well over 800 hours. Translated, that's only a little over 33 days play time. Yep. Totally.Luca Fox wrote:That's exactly what I do because no game except for Left 4 Dead and similar games are worth full price. From the Sergals and Sergal Lovers channel of F-List's chat system (Beyond NSFW, by the way): Honey, you ain't the only abnormal sergal in here. We got three pink northerns, a fairy, and a dork with a talking sword.
Re: Skyward Sword, Skyrim or a new mouse?
I personally haven't, but my room mate has played through Morrowind at least 12 times. As best as he can estimate, it's some 1200+ hours at least, with a similar story for Oblivion and Fallout(s). I don't see myself putting that many hours into Skyrim, but any game where I can sink in a good 200 hours is well worth $60.Luca Fox wrote:That's exactly what I do because no game except for Left 4 Dead and similar games are worth full price. Man can live 30 days without food, 4 days without water, and 8 minutes without air. But man cannot live a single second without hope.
Re: Skyward Sword, Skyrim or a new mouse?
I'd need to be really sure I was going to invest that much time in a game to justify spending that much on it.
Re: Skyward Sword, Skyrim or a new mouse?
After what I've seen of the game so far (one of my room mates owns it), I'm fairly certain I will spend a considerable amount of time diving in and out of the story. I imagine most people will get an easy 50 hours out of it, but those of us who are fans of Bethesda's RPG formula (guilty) will have no problem investing vastly greater amounts of time.

Funnily enough, I got Skyrim waaaaay before anyone replied to this thread. Got on PS3 due to PC only meeting minimum requirements and Xbox doesn't have Internet atm. (£50 for a wireless adapter? Sod you Microsoft...)
Thanks anyways ^^

That was an easy achievement for me with oblivion. Same with both Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Skyrim will be no different.Luca Fox wrote:That's exactly what I do because no game except for Left 4 Dead and similar games are worth full price. Good choice. I have a 98% certainty that you will have a great time playing Skyrim.Bart95 wrote:Funnily enough, I got Skyrim waaaaay before anyone replied to this thread.
