I just found a new webcomic called True Magic. It's rather funny, if a bit light on plot after you get past the plot rich prologue (sorta plot rich...well, not so much). The story makes fun of itself and it doesn't take anything seriously. Anything.

So I recommend you go read it. It's only 68 pages long right now, so it shouldn't take you very long to read.

Picture because I feel like it.

Sorry, there aren't actually any zombies...yet.

I'll have to check that out. The two pages I saw looked promising!

Has anyone mentioned Freefall yet? It's a fairly hard sci-fi comic that takes on the hefty (hypothetical) issue of AI rights, while still getting in a punchline. The three main characters are Sam Starfall, a kleptomaniac squid alien; Florence Ambrose, a genetically modified "Bowman's Wolf"; and Helix, a happy-go-lucky robot.

However, with an archive of over 1800 comics, this won't be something you can get through in one afternoon.

Dunno if these have been posted before, and I'm too lazy to go through 50 pages to find out. And I only found these recently, but I think they're worth sharing.

First off: White Noise

Post apocalyptic comic, set about 100 years after the world as we currently know it ended. The catastrophe that caused this is mentioned in the story many times in passing, and is explained in brief once, but its really not the focus of the story. We follow Wren as he flees from a group of people who want him dead, why I won't tell you since its SPOILERIFIC! All in all, I read it in one night, and I absolutely love it, and really wish it updated more, but beggars can't be choosers so they say.

Also: Srs story is srs, don't expect many laughs.

Second: Cat Legend

Took me a whole weekend to get through these monster archives. And I'm glad I did. Don't consider a single second spent reading it wasted. Standard fantasy world, fay, magic, witches, that kinda stuff. The story follows Cat, a recently undead boy, who was raised by a fay to protect his baby sister, who plays a vital role in the greater scheme of things. She's a vortex that sucks in magical energy, which some want and others don't. Its told in a semi-flashback manner as Cat is telling it from the "future" to various people and acquaintances. And a few others join in on the telling to fill in gaps that Cat doesn't know. This future plot is a bit mysterious, but the past stories are compelling enough to be what you're there for, and you know that there's a lot left given the state of current events. It will take you a while to get through the archives, but its worth it, even if you space it out over a month.

And final: Muse Academy

A bit of standard college/high school stuff. It isn't exactly clear which level the Academy covers, something tells me its much more a mix of the two. What makes it different, however, is that the Muse Academy is a school for various magical creatures. Many mythologies pop in and out, but the main one is Greek, with the others getting passing mention or a few characters that happen to be races from others. The main character, Charlie, is the first human to be extended an offer to attend the Academy. The archives are a bit obstructive, but its not hard to figure out. Some of you don't really like the college/high school setting, and this comic won't change your mind, but for those that do, its a bit different, a bit samey, but all in all, it'll fill any need for some Greek mythos.

I need to go out and find some more. I'll let you know if I find any good uns. :3
