"Cuts? Oh, the bandages." She makes a funny face. "I could do better than these!"

Well, you find him up there, and he is indeed showing off, and doing it from a perch that even an able sailor would have difficulty with... even if it wasn't for all the snow and ice.
'Goat' indeed... as in Mountain Goat.

He notices your approach without looking around and hops down, prancing over to you and making Duke Tyrone clap his hands together in approval. "Magnificent beast! So, this is what an Elk looks like?"

... for all his enthusiasm about hunting with Raimius, this man has spent most of his life on a swampy island or at sea.

Sylvi rolls her eyes and lets out a little happy sigh. "I'm sure you could, Rita; but if everything works out I won't be needing them come morning."

Sylvi reaches up to place her hands around Sven's large neck, rubbing up and down in quick succession like she was playfully scruffing (Might be a slang term that means to rub forcefully.) a giant dog.
"Where have you been ya big brute, eh? Causing mischief for our new friends have we?"
Phaing wrote:"Magnificent beast! So, this is what an Elk looks like?"
"Yeah, more or less. At least one good thing that came out of today is that you got to learn the difference between an elk and a goa-"
Sven's ears flicker a little and his expression sours momentarily.
"Oh you know you're not, stop being such a sook." Sylvi says in a firm yet playful voice, redoubling her scruffing.

(yeah, we definitely hit a rough patch for a while)

Rita joins in the scruffing and petting, where she can reach. "Don't leave us just yet, alright?" She yawns, and slaps a hand to her mouth. "Not for riding, I ..." another yawn, "just like having you around."

You feel a lurch in the decking, the ship is moving again, the rolling ocean currents are taking it away from this port... and out into the deep blue seas.

"I think we have all had enough." The Duke sighs. "While this ship stays at sea, it will keep it's own secrets. What we need to figure out now is, what will come of all this when we reach shore again, as surely we must someday soon. I suggest we all bed down before we try to figure that one out."

Sylvi gives a gentle smile and shakes her head. "Don't worry, Rita. Until Tycho finishes his work, I think Sven is going to be keeping us company." She then gives Sven two hard thumps on his strong shoulder. "Hear that you menace? It looks like you'll have to be on your best behaviour for the time being. No scraping the wood work. Got it?"

"Right, no point wasting what's left of the night; off to bed you two." Sylvi says, pointing towards the doorway that'd lead back down to the sleeping quarters. "Mind the antlers don't knock anything off the walls, alright?"

Sylvi will follow shortly behind, but not before wondering over to the ship's railing and peering out into the water and bank. Hoping to catch a glimpse of Pete still alive and well, or more morbidly, a corpse to confirm her worst fear.

//Getting there, slowly but surely.
Actually, I would like to skip ahead to where we can get Tycho back into this, so lets go ahead to the next morning. Okay?
You won't be getting much out of the Duke, he's eager for bed too... perhaps for a different reason.//

The sun rises late this time of year, and the swells are gentle in the wake of the storm. Sleeping late is an option for certain, and perhaps it is only the smell of a late breakfast that rouses everyone. That is what it will take to get Raimius up, Tycho is ... well, Tycho. Who knows, eh?

As for Sven, no, not in the living quarters. The doorways are so narrow that even the Duke has to go a little sideways to get through them, Sven's antlers would be impossible here. Rita solves the problem... she must have seen a ship like this before.
There is no stable aboard, it takes 300 men to row the ship, so there is no room for such things. But the rowing chamber is huge, and Sven can find enough room to hunker down at either end. With all the men working, it isn't a cold place.

//Certainly, if anything I'm glad to hear it. I was sort eluding to that when Sylvi was marching the other pair off to bed. I've also been hoping Tycho would make a surprise interjection at some point, but this might be better.//

Sylvi lays awake in bed for what feel like hours as the morning's light illuminated her room, while in reality only 20 minutes time has passed. She's still incredibly tired from the events of the night before, even after the others had gone to sleep, she stayed awake another hour longer to address her wounds. Those few traces of evidence of scars upon her arms are mostly hidden away with fur, however the fresh pink skin that covers the split across her brow remains quite visible.

Even after slumping into her allocated bed, what little sleep she managed to gather was plagued with nightmares. Visions of blood, the sound of screaming, and sensation of cartilage collapsing under fang; it wasn't long before she toss herself awake again and again. "Why is this happening... ? I don't understand..." she mutters as she rubbed her blood shot eyes and rolls herself out of bed. "These saliors better have the strongest coffee this side of Wreathwood or there'll be hell to pay..."

If Coffee is what you want, just open the door.

The doors to the ten best cabins on the ship all open out into a central room where there is a table with a dozen chairs. The ship's officers have already come and gone, but there is plenty left, including a huge samovar with about a ballon of coffee still in it. Rita is sitting there chatting amiably with Katija, but sitting across the table from each other. Katija gets up as soon as Sylvi appears and goes to knock on the Captain's cabin.
"Saved some bacon for you." Rita takes a napkin off a plate near where she is sitting. "Da- ... Raimius isn't awake yet. I think Tyrone is going to want to make him wake up now."

You can hear the Duke and Zha-Zha talking in the Captain's Cabin, and then she appears in the doorway. The Tigress looks pretty well satisfied with herself... but if you look more closely, there is also a hollowness there.

How many days will he be trying to hand around? We set a span for him, but I forgot what we came up with. It isn't a biggie, but I thought that he has to spend about as much time away as he does here.

[[I haven't gone anywhere, so don't worry. Hope you're feeling better.]]

It takes Tycho quite some time to wake up. The bed in the infirmary is just so comfortable - in fact, moments after he finally gets out of it, he discovers that lying face-first on the infirmary floor is also very comfortable.

He makes a horrid groaning noise as he shuffles clumsily into a standing position. He isn't quite sure how he got in here, but he smells food somewhere, and salt everywhere. He figures this must be the Duke's boat. He walks outside to look at the ocean and sky - maybe fresh air and seawater will help wake him up.

After leaning over the deck's railing and staring out at the horizon for a few minutes, making sure not to get in the way of any of the deckhands, his head does clear. He remembers some of last night, but there are holes. He still isn't sure how he got into the infirmary. However, he does remember the work he still hasn't finished. "Ah, I bet she's still waiting for me to complete the enchantment!" He flags down the nearest crew member. "Do you happen to know where I can find a Wolf named Sylvi? She would have come aboard at the same time that I did. Taller than me, carries a big spear. Seen her?"

[[I just hope I'm not interjecting before you guys are ready.]]

"Saved some bacon for you." Rita takes a napkin off a plate near where she is sitting. "Da- ... Raimius isn't awake yet. I think Tyrone is going to want to make him wake up now."
Sylvi gives Rita a little grin as she walks by her to grab the largest cup available to her and fill it to the brim with the brown liquid gold. If there isn't anything she'd consider large enough, she'd take a bowl full instead.

She wonders back to the table, coffee in hand, taking a seat next to Rita. She lifts the coffee to her lips and proceeds to drink heavily from it, easily downing a third or even a half it contents in one continuous gulp.

"Ahh... I needed that..." Sylvi says, breathing heavily her before placing the cup/bowl down on the table in front of her. Seemly ignoring Rita's presence entirely; until the princess finds a tail wrapped around her waist. Sylvi makes a subtle growling noise and pulls Rita in under her arm. Her cheek resting upon the top of Rita's head for just a moment. "Morning, hon. How'd you sleep?" she ask before lifting her head and reaching for some bacon. "Don't worry about Raimius, I'll go check on him right after breakfast. Have you seen Tycho this morning?"
Phaing wrote:You can hear the Duke and Zha-Zha talking in the Captain's Cabin, and then she appears in the doorway. The Tigress looks pretty well satisfied with herself... but if you look more closely, there is also a hollowness there.
Even with the hollowed look, Sylvi can't really bring herself to feel pity or empathy for the tigress. To her, Zha-Zha had largely deserved anything that she'd brought upon herself at this point.
Phaing wrote://How many days will he be trying to hand around? We set a span for him, but I forgot what we came up with. It isn't a biggie, but I thought that he has to spend about as much time away as he does here.//
//I believe there was no set time before he'd disappear, other than when Sylvi decides, but he was prone to wondering off on occasion.

The only reason I haven't done so yet is because of Tycho's warning when it came to using the specialised enchanted stone. The uncertainty with what may happen makes Sylvi weary of using it until Tycho deems it safe.//
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

The Coffee is exceptional... exceptionally strong. (think Turkish coffee) At the bottom of the cup there is enough sediment to give the appearance of a bit of mud. The taste is abnormally rich... unless you put your tongue to that mud!

In fact, you were followed out of the infirmary by one of the orderlies working for that grumpy old Doctor. This young man is a sailor in addition to being a healer in training, so he's going barefoot like the others.
These guys can be devilishly unobtrusive when they want to be.
"I would assume that our female guests are in Officer's Country, they wouldn't be safe anywhere else. Are YOU feeling quite alright?" He peers at your eyes and hands. "This is where people feeling sea-sick normally go when they feel... less than well-balanced."

The sea is calm, anyone having such issues at this point would have to have a very weak stomach indeed.

Once you assure him that all is well, he escorts you to the wardroom where everyone is meeting. The Duke is in a much more jovial mood than he was in last night, and looking fairly pleased with himself.
"Ah, welcome sir Mage! Have a seat and get some chow into you. Let's see... this is everyone but the Huntsman, and I suppose we would have to go to him. Katija, be a dear and make up a plate for the man and cover it. No, allow me to take it to him when you are done. In fact, I would like the ladies to stay here when I go see him. All but you, Sylvi."

Sylvi raises her hand slightly and gives Tycho a small wave; not wanting to interrupt the Duke while he spoke. That was until he mentioned visiting Raimius.

Tycho nods defferentially to the Duke. "With all due repect, Sir, 'mage' is a bit misleading. I'm really an enchanter by trade and by skill. No fireballs or finger lightning here, I'm afraid."

Tycho looks in her direction and silently nods in acknowledgement, also not wishing to interrupt the Duke... again.
